For the duration of the high pressure portion of the hydrotest, as a safety consideration, Florida Gas Transmission Company isolated the 24-inch diameter pipeline from any vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The test started at midnight, so the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway frontage roadways along the 9.5-mile pipeline alignment were closed until approximately 4:00 a.m. A Traffic Control Plan for the night of the hydrotest was approved, and the associated General Utility Permit was issued by the Florida Department of Transportation.

During the hydrotest, the following roadways were closed:

  • NW 77 Avenue/W 20 Avenue (SR 826 eastern frontage road)
    • From: NW 122 Street/W 68 Street
    • To: NW 138 Street/W 84 Street
  • NW 77 Avenue (SR 826 eastern/southern frontage road)
    • From: SR 924/Gratigny Parkway
    • To: NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road
  • NW 167 Street (SR 826 eastbound frontage road)
    • From: NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road
    • To: NW 59 Avenue
  • NW 167 Street (SR 826 westbound frontage road
    • From: Just west of the Golden Glades Interchange
    • To: NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road
  • Between NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road and the Golden Glades Interchange, all SR 826 cross streets were closed except:
    • SR 817/NW 27 Avenue - remained open
    • SR 823/NW 57 Avenue/Red Road – remained open
  • Between NW 67 Avenue/Ludlam Road and the Golden Glades Interchange, all SR 826 westbound on-ramps and off-ramps were closed except:
    • Off-ramp to SR 817/NW 27 Avenue – remained open
    • Off-ramp to SR 823/NW 57 Avenue/Red Road – remained open
  • Northbound SR 826
    • Off-ramp to NW 154 Street/Miami Lakes Drive
